Ernest Burdette to Assume Triton Ambassador Role
Triton Executive Vice President Brian Kett has been appointed president of Triton effective March 1, 2003 announced Triton's current President Ernest Burdette. Burdette will continue at Triton in the new executive role president emeritus and founder.
Kett joined Triton in 1997 as director of sales for Canada, and has subsequently earned positions of increasing responsibility in the company. According to Burdette, Kett has been instrumental in spearheading Triton's international expansion efforts and has been a key member of the executive management team since October 2000. Prior to joining Triton, Mr. Kett spent 18 years with Shell Canada Limited where he held several senior management and executive positions.
"Brian's results-oriented approach has driven Triton's major business development initiatives; under his leadership, I know Triton will continue to thrive and lead the ATM industry with practical innovation and vision," Burdette said.
Burdette is the last remaining partner of the original three who founded Triton Systems, Inc. in 1979. As president and director of the company since August 1979, he guided Triton from start-up as a manufacturer of electronic ocean buoys into the ATM industry with a bank customer training device in 1985, then in 1994 introduced the first single-note, dial-up ATM with true ATM-like user interface. Under his leadership, Triton became the leading innovator in the off-premise ATM industry with the largest off-premise installed base in the U.S. Triton was acquired by Dover Industries in March 2000.
In his new role, Burette's focus will shift towards more engagement with Triton's customers and distributors, as well as development activities for Triton's key growth initiatives and market expansion plans. As a respected industry leader built from years of straightforward honest dealings and accumulated industry knowledge, Burdette will continue to share his vision, articulate industry opportunities within Triton, and promote industry collaboration and integration.
